About Amel School
My wife, Judy, and I enjoyed 11 years circumnavigating the world aboard our 2003 Amel Super Maramu, BeBe. Judy and I logged over 40,000 miles and visited 58 countries. Our Circumnavigation Blog aboard BeBe, SM #387, is at www.svbebe.com

After this adventure I created Amel School (www.amelschool.com) to share my knowledge and experiences with others who would like to follow the course that Judy and I completed. For an Audio Podcast with Bill & Judy explaining costs of cruising, follow this link: Bill & Judy "Costs of Cruising" Podcast

During our circumnavigation I became a self-taught on almost everything about Amel yachts and the systems installed on Amels. I created maintenance instructions with illustrations that are used by hundreds of Amel Owners. I audited Amel employees performing maintenance. The culmination of this 11 year effort is my 400 page Amel Book which I give at no charge to all Amel School attendees.

Amel School Courses
The 3-Day Course is taught aboard your Amel with as many members of the crew as desired. It is at least a 3-day course with some owners choosing to add extra days. Attendees of Amel School receive a printed and bound copy of the Amel School Book (1 per boat) with weekly online updates and also receive free of additional charge 1 Year of 24/7 Support. LifeTime 24/7 Support is available for as long as you own your Amel. Included in Lifetime Support is a new Amel School Book each time there is a major new printing of the book, and Transshipment of Parts purchased from US retailers such as Amazon via DHL to anywhere in the world, charging for the cost of transport to you. In January 2019 I began offering the FastTrack Course. FastTrack is designed for those owners new to Amel that are limited with availability, time, and/or budget to take this the 3-Day Course.

Pre-Purchase Consulting
Pre-Purchase Consulting is very important for new buyers of resale Amels. I understand the complexities of selecting the right Amel yacht and the issues in the purchase process. I have developed a system which combines my experience and the use of common technology to remotely perform an evaluation of the Amel you may want to buy. I review hundreds your photos (I give you a list of what to photograph), owner/broker's photos, and I ask the owner hundreds of experience-prepared and pointed questions. I also provide you with the "Amel School Survey Checklist" to give to your surveyor. This is a list of items that are commonly missed by many surveyors. The combination of this information gives me a unique perspective and allows me to provide you with a qualified summary of good things and deficiencies of the proposed purchase.

With this information the buyer can make an informed decision and negotiate with accurate information on his side. I have helped a large number of people with their purchase of an Amel. I am neither a broker nor a surveyor, but I am a non-conflicted knowledgeable consultant to future Amel owners. I have already saved my clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in their selection, negotiation and purchase of their Amel.

When you purchase anything from Amel School, you become an Amel School Client for as long as you own your Amel, qualifying you for discounts on Amel OEM and quality OEM substitute systems, devices, and parts from Amel School Preferred Vendors. Purchase discounts for our clients include sails, rigging, pumps, some critical engine parts, membranes, Yacht Transport, and others. The discounts range from at least 5% up to 20%. Amel School is in no way affiliated with these vendors and receives no commission or referral. I leveraged the size of of our client base to negotiate discounts for you and you alone. A client recently saved thousands over his best prices from other sources.
